President’s Message to the readers of the Newsletter Dear ISCMNS members and related CMNS researchers: The International Society of Condensed Matter Nuclear Science (ISCMNS) is now ready to open the NEWSLETTERS/ISCMNS on our web-site: www.iscmns.org for providing active information on the progress of Condensed Matter Nuclear Science (CMNS). To cover the rather wide scope of information, i.e., definition of CMNS, theories, experiments, and technological applications, we have set up in the NEWSLETTERS several sub-threads, namely Definition Thread, Theory Thread, Experiment Thread and Technology Thread. To moderate and converge discussions, each thread has own guide line. In the definition thread, we contribute to present our own aspects or ideas about what CMNS is, how we summarize major experimental claims, what importance we find in minor claims, how we make taxonomy of and evaluate various theories. Discussions will be extended freely, but we need effective moderation to converge discussions. In the theory thread, we expect rather substantiated discussions along the guide lines of designed Study-Kits, aiming at obtaining scientific outputs as solutions for special problems (and also for comprehensive understanding on the total CMNS phenomena, as much as possible) and providing hints for creative works by members and related researchers. In the experiment thread, we exchange “hot” information of latest succeeding experiments and unsuccessful experiences, discussions about these reports, proposal of preliminary ideas on improving experiments and key issues to resolve difficulties as reproducibility, triggering methods, material conditions, diagnostic methods, and etc. In the technology thread, discussions and suggestions will be extended in reference to intensification of effects, increased repeatability, reproducibility, scaling-up. Connection to the industry, investors, benefactors, funding problems , and etc. will be also discussed. We will maintain archives of discussions in each thread. With proper timing, we will include in the definition thread a summary discussion of outputs of all threads, to get comprehensive understanding on what CMNS is. This trial activates our CMNS community of the world for sustaining and expanding the CMNS activity. Every member of ISCMNS and those researchers who are interested in our discussions are very encouraged to participate in discussions in each thread. We wish you aggressive actions to assist this event. We hope to have many constructive discussions coming in, hoping our conversation will be civil, respectful, and focused on increasing scientific understanding. With best wishes, Akito Takahashi, President, ISCMNS |
